Commission: Heart of Roses Wedding Cakeby ^cakecrumbs

This is a commission for a small[ish] wedding cake. The couple requested a strawberry cake with embossed fondant and a heart made from red roses. I cut the cake into four layers, layered and crumb coated them with chocolate buttercream before covering with fondant.

This is the first large cake I've covered with embossed fondant. It's quite difficult to cover a cake with embossed fondant and not ruin the pattern, so I was quite nervous about the request. It worked out fine it the end. PHEW.

DUDE I wanna try to do the same thing now except i never did buy an impression mat

crap lol.
but i wanna make some buttercream roses cause its been a while so maybe ill try that BUT Halloween is coming up too hmmm Maybe I could do edible spiders in a heart shape??? hahah idk what do you think??
But I LOVE your work you roses look realistic even without the leaves

Did you have to put any doles in the cake to hold layers together or were you good?
I bet they LOVED IT and ate all of it.
