Lamb and Mango Skewers by cakecrumbs Lamb and Mango Skewers by cakecrumbs
This is my first time submitting something as still life, rather than artisan crafts. It's not really a mark of me thinking the photography is better, it's more that I decided this was too simplistic for the blog. It's just lamb and mango shoved on a stick, dipped in marinade and grilled. Probably doesn't warrant a whole blog post.

Served it with couscous and veggies.

I don't normally think of mixing fruit and meat, but this looks delicious. I'm soooo hungry right now.

It's definitely a combination I thought I would have detested, but the more I try fruit + meat, the more I like it. Have had banana + chicken and watermelon + seafood before and they were both great.

What kind of seafood? Shrimp? I would think shrimp would be very good.

I think it was scallops. This was about 4 years ago so memory is foggy on that one.

I would think so. :P
Scallops sound even better than shrimp for fruity tastes. I'll try it sometime.

that looks tasty and very creative...i'm sure the mango made the lamb a bit sweet and IF the lamb is salty at all, most likely it's the best combination of sweet and salty..good job!don't under credit yourself either,i'm sure people would love it on your blog

Thank you. :] Sometimes I go to write the blog and I'm like "I have literally nothing to say about this food" haha. I find writing posts really hard.

no problem, just describe the dish and a little bit about how you felt making it or how you made it

Thanks. :] I didn't post one because I figured it was too simple in the end. Basically you cut the lamb into cubes, then put it in the fridge with your favourite marinade (or skip that part if you'd prefer to season it instead). You cube the mangoes and put them on a skewer. Then you grill (or fry) it until the lamb is cooked to your preference (I like medium rare so it's basically a minute on each side.

Oh lovely. What did you make?

Lamb is my favourite meat, but it's very expensive here so it's a bit of a treat for us.

I just made lamb chops. I marinated them in a souvlaki mixture. It's INCREDIBLY expensive here as well and I don't like the idea of eating baby animals, so I won't be buying it too often at all.
