So one of the delights of my CV experience so far was finding out that the CVs do Secret Santa. You jot down a few of your favourite things and then everyone is secretly assigned another CV to art gifties for. It was SO EXCITING.
Until I remembered I was on the other side of the world to almost everyone and this was gonna pose a serious problem for my medium.
I got to make goodies for Beccalicious
, who lives in the UK. She's a fellow GoT fan and I was half tempted to make something GoT, but intricacy and the other side of the planet was a no and GoT deserves intricacy. So I turned to most of her other loves: owls, blue, purple, red and tea! I made some choccy blue and purple owl cookies. The macarons are my usual tea flavoured ones: raspberry, cranberry and strawberry tea infused white-chocolate ganache in the red ones, and peppermint tea-infused white chocolate ganache in the green.
I froze everything, packed it all as safely as I could, crossed fingers and hoped for the best. After I posted it I was imagining terrible worst-case scenarios and spent a lot of time going "you should have just crafted something not perishable idiot". But I am told everything got there in an edible condition and everyone survived the experience. Hooray.
