The Living End Retrospective Cupcakesby ^cakecrumbs

Last December, one of my favourite bands in the world treated us to the most amazing tour in the world. They played every album, front to back, over 6 nights in every state. In Melbourne, their home town, we got a few extra shows so we ended up with 11 shows [plus an extra one-off show for the under 18s].

It was one of the most amazing weeks of my life. There are no words to convey how amazing it was, how thankful I am to those guys for giving us something so special. They treat their fans better than any band I know.

Since I was flat out with Christmas stuff I didn't have time to make the album replica cakes I wanted to, so I made a much smaller celebration. These are red velvet cakes with cream cheese icing. They feature the bands logo, which I piped from dark chocolate. The bands album design almost always consists solely of red, white and black, so I wanted to stick with that colour theme.

Wow, these look so freaking delicious! I myself love red velvet cake and if you were to leave these in a room with me... let's just say that there wouldn't be much left of them :'p You should sent these (or the pictures at least) to your favourite band! I bet they would be psyched (;

Thanks so much.

A few friends tried to convince me to give it to the guys but I couldn't. I'm so shy and I can't approach people, let alone band members. I've met them at signings a few times and they are lovely, just the most gentlemanly guys. But I feel if I approach them outside that setting I'm invading their personal time and space.

This one time they were playing secret shows under another name at a festival and I'm standing there on barrier with my TLE top on watching the band before them. They came out to watch the band and were standing like a meter from me and I just acted like I couldn't see them cause I couldn't bring myself to say hi!
