This is the cake I made for my dad's 57th birthday. He's not much of a sweet tooth, but he loves mudcake.
This is my favourite recipe. It puts the mud in mudcake - it's very moist, best eaten straight out of the oven.
Topped with a tower of truffles, it made for a very no-fuss but delicious birthday celebration.
